The partnership
The United Kingdom’s ageing population is creating a sustained need for high-quality care. BuckworthZephyr was formed to meet this demand, building homes and holding them rather than trading them.
Buckworth Capital and Zephyr X are partners in the venture, sharing the work and the long-term interest in each home, with operations run by EQ Care.

The homes
Cedar Lodge is open on the Thames and run by EQ Care. Alder Lodge is rising in the Hampshire countryside at Bishop’s Waltham. Between them they show what the venture is for: a building that feels like a home, and grounds worth sitting in.

Whitchurch-on-Thames, Oxfordshire / 45 ensuite bedrooms
The first home, and the one that sets the standard for the rest. Forty-five generously sized ensuite bedrooms sit around shared rooms built for company rather than supervision, with gardens and a terrace on the Thames side. EQ Care runs it day to day.

Bishop's Waltham, Hampshire / 66 beds
Rising in the Hampshire countryside on the edge of Bishop's Waltham, with ensuite bedrooms throughout, quiet shared rooms for residents and their families, and a stream and planted grounds to look out on.
Five further homes sit behind these two, from Horsham and East Grinstead to Alton and a pipeline in Hampshire.

EQ Care Group runs eight homes across England, providing residential, nursing, day and respite care. Its approach is a family one, built on asking residents what they want rather than telling them, and on treating their relations as partners in how a home is run.
It is the standard of that care, more than the building, that decides whether a home is worth backing.
